Level 1 Improv Saturdays
Saturdays at_ 12:00 pm
January 15, 2022 - March 5, 2022
It’s time to let improv comedy change your life.
This Level 1 course is an introduction to the basics of how to perform “Long-form improv” comedy, a unique art form where you’ll learn to create live comedy sketches on the spot with your scene partners. While Improv classes are great for actors/comedians looking to stretch a new creative muscle, you will find that a majority of people taking Improv Classes have never set foot on a stage before!
No matter your performance experience, Improv is a great way to meet new people while trying something fun, new, and exciting in a supportive group environment. The skills you will develop in this course have benefits which help people in their behavior both on and off stage in both personal and professional lives.
These skills include:
- Better listening
- Living in the moment
- Being supportive
So, consider taking the plunge and join us in Level 1 Intro to Improv!
The course will be held at the theater located at Fallout Theater (616 Lavaca St) in downtown Austin and will consist of 8 weekly classes from 12pm-2pm starting Saturday, January 15th, followed by a Sunday night recital show for your friends and family at the end of the course. Students who complete Improv Level 1 will be eligible to enroll in Improv Level 2.
