Level 1 Sketch - Online Class

Learn the basics of writing sketch comedy through a variety of exercises, at home writing assignments, and collaborative group work
This 8 week at home course is our introduction to the basics of comedy writing.
Students build their skills in creating characters, generating ideas for scenes, and honing those ideas so that they have a clear “game”.
This course requires that students have a computer, access to the internet. A webcam is recommended but not required.
Starting Monday, August 3rd students will receive weekly lessons and assignments from their instructor. The class will also periodically include group video chat sessions with the instructor and other classmates. These will take place on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm when they occur. Students unable to join in the group video chats will still have access to these videos after they conclude.
Students who complete Sketch Level 1 will be eligible to enroll in Sketch Level 2.

About Devon Coleman
Devon has been writing, directing, and performing comedy for 15 years. He studied at UCB with Jon Daly, Brian Huskey, Jackie Clarke, and Seth Morris. Devon has been an Austin Sketch Fest producer since 2016. He can be seen weekly as a member of B. Iden Payne award winning troupe Sugar, Water, Purple at ColdTowne Theater.
