Description
You’ve thought about it, you’ve talked about it, and now you are HERE!
Welcome to Level 1 Improv, this course is an introduction to the basics of how to perform “long-form improv” comedy, a unique art form where you’ll learn to create live comedy on the spot with your scene partners. While Improv classes are great for actors/comedians looking to stretch a new creative muscle, you will also find that a a good mix of people take Level 1 Improv to feel more confident pubic speaking, to work on active listening, and to meet new friends.
No matter your performance experience or your ultimate goal, this class is a great way to try something fun, new, and exciting in a supportive group environment. Our thoroughly taught Improv skills will transfer past class and into your personal and professional life.
Skills such as…
- Being in the present moment
- Creating on the spot
- Supporting everyone’s ideas
- Listening before responding
The course will be held at the theater located at Fallout Theater (616 Lavaca St) in downtown Austin and will consist of 8 weekly classes from 7pm-9pm on Thursdays, followed by a Sunday night recital show for your friends and family at the end of the course.
