Stand-Up 101: Stand-Up Basics (Wednesdays)

with Duncan Carson
August 7th – September 25th
6:30pm – 8:30pm

Out of stock

We heard everyone saying how funny you are. You should do stand-up!

This course will be an introduction to the experience of stand-up comedy — the basics of joke writing, the habit of turning your thoughts and/or life experiences into material, and how to develop and refine a set over time. Whether you’re a complete novice or a performer of another discipline like improv or sketch comedy, stand up is a singular and worthwhile skill to develop: improve your confidence in public speaking, learn how to connect with an audience, and develop your creative muscles!

The course will be held at Fallout Theater, located at 616 Lavaca St in downtown Austin, and will consist of 8 weekly classes from 6:30pm-8:30pm and a class show for your friends and family.

  • Tuition is $250 and is due by the first day of class.
  • Payment plans are available. If you would like to inquire about a payment plan please email classes@fallouttheater.com.
  • Refunds available only before the second week of class. To request a refund please email classes@fallouttheater.com.
